PSA Saturday ending....

<< <i>PSA Saturday Program - Last PSA Saturday July 10, 2004

Dear Collector/Dealer:
Thank you for your continued patronage of our PSA Saturday program. Effective August 2004, we will no longer be accepting submissions through the PSA Saturday program. Our last PSA Saturday event will be held Saturday, July 10, 2004 here at our office in Santa Ana.
However, submission and drop-offs are now available daily at our office - Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed 11:30-1:00). This service is available by APPOINTMENT ONLY - please call customer service at (800) 325-1121.
In addition, we will continue to offer services at the many PSA tradeshows that we attend all year.

I saw that - it's too bad. I've used it exclusively for submissions and pickups for years now. It's very convenient, saves me $, and reduces the chance of loss or damage. The M-F hours will do me no good because I'll be at work. I also noticed that whenever I marked my orders with "PSA Saturday pickup," the order was always ready by the next month's PSA Saturday, even on economy submissions (often finished the Friday right before). Oh well.

GOOD why should you guys get it "faster" just because you live closer!!! (im just kidding BTW)

BUT they should gauge the "market" (which for graded cards is apparently realy good) and hire someone (grader) just to handle "walk ins" once or twice a month.

I wonder if "by appointment only" they mean if you have a lot of cards... image

The tables were busy 90% of the times I went to PSA Saturday, so I know it's not from lack of use. There seemed to be a lot of newbies/uninformed collectors there whenever I had to wait. People with obvious reprints, broders, etc., and people who had no idea what they had, how to fill out the forms, stuff like that. The clerks and grader were always helpful with these folks. Draw your own conclusions about how the PSA brass values the small customer.

This really isn't that big of a deal. All you need to do is make an appointment. Like AlanAllen, I only use the PSA Saturday service but I thought I'd test out the appointment requirement a couple weeks ago and it was simple. I picked up my cards from a completed invoice and dropped 7 cards off. It went really smooth with no problems.

AA, just poking a little. But obviously business is "good" so why switch? You usually "cutback" something if it is not making money or you cant handle the business. Maybe they need to "train" some more graders....... just thinking out loud...

I put a little smiley at the end of my "crack" in good faith of hoping it was reconized as a "rib".
