<< <i>Stay with Ken!!! He's got a spread near there!!! >>
I think Frank would be a good match to stay there. They wouldn't want me around with all those "things) they would be looking at. You know, those guys with the parts on the side of their heads.
<< <i>The thought of sharing a room with any of you lunatics is more than I care to fathom. >>
I'll let the Women of the forum know Frankie!!!
I'm sad to say that driving in Pittsburgh is pretty tough for tourists because of the myriad of bridges, tunnels and hills, so I generally recommend one of the above.
What I call "walking distance" might be too far for some people. I hear that a lot.

Edited to add: it's 4 stars in downtown.
Thanks kids!
any scoop on it? how close?

Here's the scoop for me............Wife is going to see if she can find a sitter (grandparents) to take all 3 of our kids. IF she goes........she and I will probably arrive Early on the 19th and leave on the 20th after lunch.
If she doesn't go.............I will be looking for smoeone to shack up with at a nice hotel for at least the 19th and 20th.
I might know smoething later this afternoon.

<< <i>Fifteen minutes north of the city is Cranberry, PA and is loaded with relatively inexpensive hotels from Red Roof to the new Marriot (which ain't so inexpensive). Gotta have a car though. >>
Correct, except it's more like 35 minutes from downtown. (It may be only 15 minutes from the northern edge of the city itself, though, because by then you'd already be on I-279 and it's all highway.) For anyone looking for hotels beyond downtown, consider the brand-new Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Pittsburgh-Southside. They have a free shuttle within 5 miles (would include the show location). The Southside is kind of a cool historic/eclectic neighborhood - lots of small shops, ethnic restaurants, bars and coffeehouses. It's the kind of neighborhood where you go into a bar and see people in suits sitting next to people with piercings and tattoos.
Also, Monroeville/Wilkins Township (east of downtown right off of I-376) has some hotel choices which should be cheap, and it's no farther than Cranberry.

<< <i>Stman, could you tolerate ME? >>
Probably so, don't know if you could tolerate me though. We have many of the same likes and DISLIKES. I was thinking more along the lines of somebody that lived in the area. I thought you did. You know... invite me to stay with the family, home cooked meal, meet the wife
Those JFK dudes I'm sure will be up till all hours of the night passing those "Things" around.
"Oh man.......look at the hair on that guy"
Stman, whatever happens in Pittsburg stays in Pittsburg. It's been years since I've been up all night passing anything around. LOL
and it sets us apart from practitioners and consultants. Gregor
The ones who drive to Pittsburgh can be more flexible especially if not carrying much in the way of coins and supplies.

Amen to that. I'm hoping I can make it and I'll show you guys what "Cherry-picking" is all about. It's different on the west side.
<< <i>I can absolutely, positively guarantee you that I don't want to share a room with any of you critters. That's why I'm bringing along the old reliable wife to drive my a$$ around.... >>
How bad are you going to get hit when she reads the "old reliable" part?
<< <i>How bad are you going to get hit when she reads the "old reliable" part? >>
She's standing here laughing....Phew!!!..
<< <i>By the way, while some of those guys are off somewhere passing those thingy's around, MadMarty and my wife and I will be at the Church Brew Works passing beers around.... >>
Count me in too!
<< <i>Can I come along even though I don't have a wife?? >>
I certainly hope you come along. If I can get enough beers in you, maybe we can find you a wife...

Help me fill these in with freebie dinners at the auction houses so that I can show my wife how much money I can save so that more $$ is available for the coins!!!! She will be impressed by the generous (and free) cold refreshments Heritage has in their auction viewing room.
