  • Larry,

Won't you be protected by PayPals' seller protection since the address was confirmed?

Why would Paypal do a chargeback. Aren't they suppose to verify bank accounts?!

You took a good size hit on that chargeback.

I had the same thing happen to me a few months ago. Buyer made a complaint to Paypal and they took the money back until he reported the dipute resolved.

His problem was that the coins took 6 days to arrive and he had expected a faster shipping method without actually stating a shipping preference. Once the coins arrived, the money was sent backto my account.
  • I had the same thing with a $70 coin but got lucky and they paid again.......

Thank you for contacting PayPal. I am sorry to hear about this
situation, and understand your frustration and concern over the issue.

You received funds from an account with reports of fraudulent bank
    account use.

When we receive notification that a transaction is fraudulent, we are
obligated to place a temporary hold on all involved funds until the
source and validity of the funds can be verified. If, in fact, the
funds are found to be fraudulent, we are legally required to return the
funds to the legitimate owner of the funds.

If a seller chooses to engage in transactions not covered by the Seller
Protection Policy, the seller assumes the risk associated with the
transaction, as well as any liability in the event that the transaction
    is determined to be fraudulent.

Unfortunately, the transaction in question does not qualify for the
PayPal Seller Protection Policy as you were unable to provide
proof-of-shipment that can be tracked online. Therefore, the temporary
hold has been completed, and the funds have been removed from your
    PayPal Account.

The ability to provide proof-of-shipment which can be tracked online is
an express condition of the Seller Protection Policy.

Please review the delivery confirmation products available to you from
UPS, FedEx, Airborne, the United States Postal service and other
shipping service providers. For example, the United States Postal
Service offers delivery confirmation that can be tracked online for
less than $0.50 in most cases (please inquire directly with the USPS
for details and exact costs). You may wish to consider making the cost
of online shipment tracking mandatory for your customers when the
amount of the transaction exceeds a certain amount for your protection
    in cases such as this.

The PayPal Seller Protection Policy is designed to protect sellers
using PayPal. We rely on sellers to follow the conditions of the policy
as stated. Click https://www.paypal.com/sellerprotection or copy and
paste entire link into the address bar to review the conditions of the
    PayPal Seller Protection Policy.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us
    again.

    Sincerely,
    Tara

It looks like you weren't the only victim. I see the slimeball has just racked up three negs and made his feedback private.

Confirmed address, tracking through Post office verfiied and Paypal still refuses any help. Everybody just be careful and use this as a lesson about paypal---always use the little green delivery confirmation.

Dukie, the reason you are out of luck with PayPal is that you did not have any tracking that could be checked online. Apparently this "buyer" knew that, and was doing chargebacks for items that showed up insured, but not tracked. While PayPal will side with him, the problem for him is that he is committing mail fraud. Be sure to hang on to your blue receipt. Send the guy a certified letter demanding payment. If you don't get the money back, file mail fraud charges against him.

As far as delivery confirmation, forget paying the full price using the green labels. Use Shipping Assistant from the post office. With it you can print labels with delivery confirmation. The DC will be free on priority packages, and 13¢ on first class. Here is the link:
