National Annual Dinner

Guys,
I've combed the internet looking for a suitable location to have our dinner-meeting and the best I could find is 12 miles away in downtown. I'm looking for a census from the people who are going to attent the Thursday dinner as to weather they wish to have the dinner at a top notch steakhouse downtown (12 miles away) or at the restaurant located about 1/2 mile away at the Sheraton. LMK ASAP.

  • I vote for the steakhouse. Putty and I would love to attend as long as it's not in conflict with King Kellogg's Indians game schedule.

I'd love to go (assuming I was invited in the first place) but am going to the Indians game that nite with the King and a cast of dozens. If it ended up any other nite anywhere sounds great- food is secondary to good company.

    Hi Gaspipe...

I was hoping that the Summit dinner would fall on Friday this year and then I would be able to attend sorry...).

I had such a great time with all the crazies last year, however, I'll be involved with the Indians game that night and Saturday night. If it's a usual time frame....the game will start at 7:05 and end about 10:00. Is the dinner only set for Fri.????? A couple of options would be 1) to change the date for the dinner or 2)have a late supper after the game.....This is a tough call......

    LMK what you think...

Why not have the dinner at the Sheraton? That could be a meeting place for all, as well as a place with a bar for the King and his men to meet after the Indians game.

  • I care not where I eat. As long as I wash my meal deal down with a 5 scoop Reeses Peanut Butter sundae, however I will share, they now put 2 peanut butter cups in per sundae and that just wont do for little ole me.image

Is Thursday night set in stone? I took a pass on the Indians game because I'm driving up from Virginia and was concerned about being there in time. I would certainly be up for a Friday night get together.

    Bob,

I am also going to the Thursday night Indians game.I would love to attend the dinner and was hoping that it would be another night. image I guess that I will have to attend at another national.I have heard that it is a great event and growing in stature.Maybe all can attend a predetermined spot for after dinner drinks.Keep us posted.Edited to say that I echo the words of Griffins.
    Thanks,
    Vic
Please be kind to me. Even though I'm now a former postal employee, I'm still capable of snapping at any time.

Thursday works best for me. I plan to be gone by Friday night. I will probably be up for something Wednesday night.

I would have liked to attend but I'm part of the mob that's going to the Indians game. Would Wednesday be a possibility?
  • Wednesday or Friday are the days I can attend. Maybe we have two dinners? A Thursday group and a Friday group?

Either is fine with me. I like the idea of having the dinner before the Indians game. People can carpool from there, and besides a lot of people won't be in Wednesday or Friday nights.

Also a sad note, Ron Ritt isnt attending this year. He has obligations at home that are preventing his coming to the National this year. we'll miss you.
