Does this look fishy to you?

I was looking at the cards this guy is trying to sell. It looks to me that he is touching up the card on MS Paint. The corners look a little (a lot) to white and bright for it to be real. What do you all think?

  • Either that or he used the scan from one of those Superior catalogues!

Those are too white, no question.

without a doubt, the picture has been altered. save it and magnify it to about 800%, if you know anything about .jpg scans, you will know this person did a lot more than just "touch up" the photo... he totally recolored the borders.

That's the nicest 7 I've ever seen, hands down. That card will attract some "resubmitters" bids.

Brightest white borders a 7 has ever seen, probably! Looks like a touch-up indeed.

  • starting bid of 85.00 with a smr of 60.00....need I say anymore?...I guess he doesnt really want to sell, or he has no idea of the smr value of cards..no wonder he received no bids..

If you save the image, open it with Windows Photo Editor and blow it way up, you'll see that the borders are all the exacty same shade of white. That never happens with a legit scan. The pixels should all be slightly different shades of white...but that's not what we get here.

Take a look for yourself, it's a good learning experience...

    Jeff...

You are absolutely correct. That is exactly what he is doing. He does this on all his scans. I know him from some transactions a few years ago. I don't do business with him anymore and haven't in a very long time. That tells you all you need to know about him.

The scan is definitely altered. The seller is a fraud.

Looks like he did some digital trimming and squaring, too. I wish my PSA 8's and 9's were that nice.
