He was a leader who knew how to delegate. The end of the cold war did not happen on his watch, but the seeds were sown. RIP.

I think this will pretty much guarantee him a coin of some sort.

It will either be the Dime or Half Dollar, whatever it is I'll collect it!

My political views were shaped in large part by Ronald Reagan. I look up to him as the man who more than any other can claim to have won the Cold War, who lowered taxes and started an economic recovery that is with us still today. Reagan's view of America was an optimistic and contagious one. He loved this country not just because it was where he happened to live, but because he loved liberty!

I am not the type of person who has a lot of heros, but I do have two. One is Thomas Jefferson and the other Ronald Reagan. Tonight, I picture Jefferson and the other great leaders of our past welcoming Reagan to their abode.

I will morn his passing. I am proud to say that I served under his administration and that he was my Commander-in-Chief and he made the U.S. a force to reckon with in the world once again. If there is a coin with his image I will be getting it. I can't tell you how sad I am to this news there will never be another like him!
  • He was a Great Man! And also here people know, that besides many good things he did for America and for entire World, he also was the great friend of Israel.

I red in Russian Coin Web that there were some ideas a few months ago to make a Dime with him, but it was rejected because of political reasons. May be now, these reasons don't seem actual anymore...

Quite honestly I didn't think much of him as a president, my opinion. But I am glad his suffering is over and my condolences go out to his family. And I have no problem with you posting this on the WAC.

For many reasons, the obverse of the dime should not change. FDR Belongs there. Put Reagan on the $50 bill and drop Grant. Frankly, Teddy Roosevelt deserved a place on American coinage or currency and that still hasn't happened. He is more deserving than Reagan.

My condolences to his family. President Reagan evokes strong feelings both for and against, but, agree with him or not, he did do a lot to bring America out of the Carter malaise.

Unfortunately, given the political state of Congress regarding affairs of the Mint these days, it seems a shame that there is talk to "sacrifice" one hero in favor of another. I don't think we need to get rid of FDR just to add Reagan. Maybe this is the time to resurrect the $1 coin with Reagan on it? At least a lot of Republicans & patriotic Americans might actually USE such a coin coin!

Sad also to think that Ronnie may have ended the Cold War, but his V.P.'s son may well have led us down the road to future "hot" wars! image
