Calling All Mercateers: How did I do?

Got this for my Registry Set. I haven't recieved the coin yet, I expect it sometime in the next week, as I had to pay by Money Order, but IMHO the price was worth the wait...

But how do you Mercateers think I did on price?

I think you did good--the money for the grade. Now hopefully the coin matches the grade!

George my son. Are you buying coins or Plastic ?

In this case you probably will not get hurt but if you were buying a key Merc would you buy it by seeing the obverse only and a TPG grade ?

I hope it is a nice coin for you plus you do have a return offered on the coin.

imageimage I took the risk because of the price... if I don't like it, I can always resell it on EBay, and maybe even make some money, with a nice Obverse and Reverse pic and also accepting PayPal... image

45P with FB's. You could probably stick the Micro S in there also.

My prediction is that some day you will want them all. image Just the normal progression of collecting.

Are you doing the 34 thru 45's. If so stick the 34D, 35D, 39S in there.

Seems like you got a good deal. The PCGS guide says $53 (the $850 the seller quotes is for a 67FB), and I figure about 75% of the PCGS price is about right for common dates. That would be roughly $40, so after postage and insurance, you still got it for $5 less.

    Hope it meets your expectations.

Hmm... good point... but at this point, I'm not likely to be buyin a FB 45-P.......... and the Micro-S will probally be a Non-FB Coin as well, just because that's what the budget dictates at this point. One coin I've commited to buying but I have until the end of the month to pay is a 67FB that is $125 will have been the most money I've ever spent on a coin... And I already have a Gem-65 '39-S from the ever popular HepKitty Collection... image

    I agree with Cocoinut.

I suggest that you purchase a few mercs; one of each in PCGS 62,63,84,65,66,67,68 so that you have yourself a grading set!

You already have the 67 and only the 68 will be expensive. The others can be had for a song. Will be fun to do too!

I already have MS64-67 in my set... image I was calling on the Mercateers to look and pass judgement on my new piece... I know that I got a good price on it. a 67 for $35 is a pretty good price for pretty much any date... image Hopefully coin will arrive tomorrow or Tuesday. I sent money order last Tuesday, and he was supposed to ship Priority Mail.

    George,

The risk on this coin is very low with a delivered price of about $35. If you look at the population for this coin you will see there are 204 MS67s in no bands. It is basically a commodity, but I think you took a reasoned risk that will most likely provide a very nice coin. There is very little downside to your purchase IMHO. Good luck with your collection!!
