ummmm.hello!!

Hello all,
As you can tell i am a newbie. I have lurked here for a year and I am who i am and not a recent member who has been kicked off coming back to haunt all of you. I am from chicago and yes i will be at sportsfest. (looking forward to meeting some of you)

I am a refugee from the beckett boards and look to you guys and gals as being on a higher level here than over there. Recently iI have read that some here have not been performing at that level and it prompted me to finally sign up and contribute to this board instead of complaining about all the whining going on here. I dont want to ruffle any feathers and please dont take that comment the wrong way. I just hope we can all get back to what we enjoy which is this great hobby we have that reminds us sometimes of our childhood. I am still a big kid at heart and love collecting. I have been collecting 31 years but i am only 40 years old.

A little background, i started collecting at 9, was a show promomter at 18, a store owner at 34 and back to a regular collector at 39. I had some great cards along the way and sold them to pay bills and raise a family. I am now in the process of putting back together my first set i ever did as a kid....the 1973 topps baseball set in psa 8...and only psa 8!! I just like the looks of the holder!! I have already had dealings with some of the people on the registry including Fabfrank...a great guy by the way.

I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello and put my 2 cents here on this board.
I am on a budget and I am not afraid to use it!!

  • Welcome, welcome.

Lemme know if you need help with the 73s. I've already helped a few on the boards already. I basically have about 400 raw cards left that are in approximately 7/8 condition. I have several references from this board who can vouch for their condition - I can also provide recent submission results to show you how they've fared (they range from 7-9 but they're mostly 8s) - as well as provide scans.

If you're only interested in them already graded, then no worries. No need to follow up.

    Take care,
    Andy
