I was thinking about turning my football HOF auto set into a PSA-graded one until ...

... I read the fees for grading any autographed card.
Someone please explain the logic of this to me ... PSA charges $20 for PSA/DNA authentication (and grading if desired) of autographed cards regardless of whether or not the card actually needs PSA/DNA authentication. Why in the world charge the same amount for significantly less work (they even go to different addresses based on this)? All the economy submission rates specifically exclude autographs - even if they are already certified by a card company! 225 cards * $6 a pop, I could swallow ... but 225 * $20??? I realize now more than ever that my HOF autos look just fine ungraded and certified ...
edited to add: This is definitely a somewhat recent change - I've included a few company-issues autos here and there in bulk invoices in the past with no problems. Wish they would have just kept it that way.

Yep, I was the one that requested this set on the registry, having 88 Hall of Fame Football autographs at $20. a pop and many probley most likely come back as questionable, I figured forget it, I'm having a ton of problems with the PSA/DNA service as is, their turn around time is not guarnteed. I'm still waiting for submission to be returned, it's going on over two and a half months, I've called PSA's customers service and they keep telling me it's in the last stages of the grading process...And that was like 3 weeks ago. Because of PSA poor service this year I've decided to opt out and not do anymore PSA/DNA submissions, it's just not worth it anymore
