There is nothing more frustrating in the world than watching the timer get down to 5, 6 minutes or so, and then seeing it go back to 10 minutes remaining. I'm bidding on a whopping 3 cards, but every time it gets reset to 10 minutes, I worry that I'm about to get outbid.
Who is Rober Maris?

...BTW, that is from a 1911 football classic which was part of an undefeated Princeton season, under consensus All-Americas captain Eddie Hart and acting captain Sunford White won the national championship.
15 minutes after I made the post above "someone" went over and outbid me.
yet another reason not to post anything of substance here in Lurkerville.
Whenever I post about a good deal I just had, or a rare item, I always get 3-4 replies stating something like "I wish I had seen that...". I don't need the extra competition.
oh well, I'm over it now
1994 Upper Deck Mantle/Griffey Signed Card Cond: 9.5 - $569 - Cheapest one I've ever seen. Last one on eBay sold for over $800.
2001 Upper Deck Ichiro Suzuki Signed RC Cond: 9.5 - $355 - As long as it's in nice shape, I'll be flipping it on eBay. If I hadn't gotten into the bidding, the card probably would have sold for $110, as I was the only other bidder when the "bid lockdown" occured.
and the biggie for the evening:
1939 Play Ball # 92 Ted Williams RC Cond: 9.5 - $783 - I've only seen one other (in Mastronet a year or so ago, but it had scrapbook damage on the back). This puppy will be going in to PSA for slabbing (it already has the PSA/DNA C of A), after which point the only time it will leave my safe will be to show it to friends and when I'm dead. I have more valuable cards in my collection, but this will probably be one of my top 5 favorite cards as long as I collect.
Was anyone else bidding in their auctions? If so, let's see what you won!

what does the "Cond: 9.5" mean?
As for the 9.5 nonsense, I'm presuming that's what they are grading the autographs themselves as. I didn't bother paying any attention to that, just the condition of the cards themselves.

I believe that's what is known as a $350 hidden reserve.

Consider yourself lucky. By the way, I can understand schr1st getting involved in this but you should know better.

Glavine GU bat.

As for Reid, I know what you mean by "hidden reserve", but unless you have specific evidence that it happened here (IE: you know it's my card, or you know who was consigning it), I'd suggest you keep your cheese-eating mouth shut.
Ignorance is bliss. Enjoy your cards.

I know how bad his act is, yet for that very reason I think the elsysian white plains will open up one day and show me the way right across the LI sound, like Moses from Mount Olive...I will win the day.
he knows rare cards and will go out and smoke them out of thier holes.
......but don't expect him to leave much on the table.
