Royal Mail set vs. UK Mint set

Is there a difference? Or is this just "marketing"

What is the term Specimen in UK coins? ie. UNC, Proof, Spec.

Looking for a 1995 SA 2 rand sterling silver proof (Rugby), any suggestions? I have checked the dealers who contribute here with no luck.

Thanks in advance,

Dan

Specimen is supposed to mean "Proof Set." The term applies to all proof sets at least up through 1953. After that, I am not so certain. Beware of "Specimen Sets" that have a case with a dagger emblem on it (bottom left corner). These are just date sets consisting of (maybe) UNC coins.
