Finally got the Candy Lid back today in its new plactic house - will try to attach the pic now, but if it doesn't work now I will upload it after I get off work later tonight.

    Looks like it worked- now for the bad news. I've really found myself between a rock and a hard place for the past week or so as far as school goes. I've been toying with the idea of letting my set go for a little while. I really don't want to do it at all, but sometimes you have to think about what is really important in your life. I'm not hell bent on selling it right now, but I really haven't thought of any other way to pay for my last semester of school. Once I get over that hump, I can rebuild the set in a matter of months. If anyone on this board is considering starting a Ryan set, PM with any offers for mine - the link to it is in my sig and there are pics of 95% of the cards. It's really a great set and one that I will definitely restart even if I have to take a little break from it. Right now my set is at a little over 20% completion and fluctuates between 5th and 7th place. It's a great group of guys and this set will give you a great head start for a set that spans from the late 60s to the early 90s. Like I said, I really don't want to sell it, but if it comes down to either this set or a diploma, I'm going to have to take the diploma right now.

    Can you raise enough money just selling some of the set? Maybe just liquidate the high pop stuff and slider grades and live off of ramen for a semester image.

    Jeff;

    I just read your second post... say it ain't so!! You are a great credit to the Nolan Ryan family! You bring a fun angle to our group (probably induced by too much beer and Don West, LOL!).

    Do you have any other options? When Texas Heat Collection sold his stuff, he really regretted it and is hoping to get some back... I agree with AlanAllen. Don't sell everything. Don't let go of that Candy Lid! If you MUST sell, just sell the stuff you can replace easily down the road.

    Hang in there! image

    Hey Jeff, I'm with Keith. Don't sell the whole thing, it is great having you in the mix. Maybe sell the more available cards individually at one time. You can get around selling fees by listing the cards to sell along with pricing on the BST board. While I know that I would love to have some of the cards, I don't want to lose you on the boards or the NRMS. School is more important but I hope there are options other than selling the whole set.
