First Submission - Padded Mailers?

First PCGS submission going in.

I'm thinking of enclosing everything in a padded mailer. Is it necessary to separately wrap each coin or does that just tick them off?

I trust Fed Ex more than USPS. Anyone ever Fed Ex them in?

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

    1) Use a box rather than padded mailers.

    2) Wrap everthing separately so that the coins don't touch in mailing.

    3) Be very carful with FedEx. Items are only insured for $500 if you item is stolen you will only receive a maximum of $500. USPS is usually faster as PCGS has aPost Office box.
  • What DJM said... And be sure to use the USPS, registered mail!!

    Okay,

You can't use a padded mailer. The coins must be shipped registered mail and that requires them being boxed and all the seams secured with brown paper tape. Also the coins must be in 2x2, non pvc flips with a sticker on each flip with the invoice number and line item number. I would wrap coins tight in bubble wrap and then fit them tight into the box so they didn't slide around during shipping.

If you are sending these FedX then you need to call PCGS for the street address. No UPS.

Bubble mailers don't fly for registered. I also tried a stiff cardboard photomailer and that didn't work. Each time they got me a big plastic/paper envelope and I just put the whole thing into that and that was fine for registered.

NO! FedEx does not insure coins, END, PERIOD. If you send coins via FedEx, UPS, Airborne, or DHL and don't insure privately, you have NO coverage at all. They will NOT reimburse you if your package is lost. Only USPS insures coins.

    Thanks everyone.

Box it is. Lots of padding.
Mylar flips... Labels facing with invoice number and line item ... Credit card number for return shipping...
