Try your luck

I was looking up some cert numbers the other day and put a few in wrong. An idea hit me I'm going to throw out there. Go to the cert verification page HERE and just put in a random number (start with something like 11 or another combination you know is valid). It's kind of like opening a wax pack without spending any money or getting anything in return - in other words completely pointless. Post your cert number, and the name and grade it ended up being, and we'll see who ended up with the best "pull". You can only post once- be honest and use your first one that worked. There is absolutely no prize unless somebody wants to donate one, confirming how pointless this is.

My birthday (12041973) and my daughter's (08192002) both yielding nothing, finally "pulled" something with my wife's birthday.

02121974 is defined as the following:

  • Cert #40078342

    Year: 1964
    Brand: TOPPS
    Player: ORIOLES TEAM
    Variety: N/A

Having never seen this card before, I couldn't resist looking up eBay auctions for it just to see what it looks like. If the scan I saw is any indication, that's quite a powerful shade of yellow used in the background.

    That was fun!

That's pretty good. I love random content. My b'day didn't work, so I kept going with other family members, most of whom were born in September, and I guess there are no '09' cards. The first friend I tried was an ex-girlfriend and, just like on our first date, I scored. The Holly Golightly of my life is at 06291971.

Hmm, I once submitted a T206 Baker with an Old Mill reverse, I believe, that came back a 5. Could very well be that card, unless you were born in October through December.

pc, that's a '48 Bowman basketball card. There's a few cards in the set that just show X-and-O play diagrams.

SMR ? How in the hell does a 2001 card get a PSA 5? Better question. Why would someone have submitted it in the first place? I mean a PSA 5 is a pretty obvious bad card.
