New Coin Shop Purchase--Wayte Raymond Mehrig Coin Books

I wne to a coin shop and saw a somewhat large stack of maybe 75 Wayte Raymond Mehrig coin books. All were brand new in the original boxes with the original bags that had the plastic "protection" thingys.

So, I purchased five books: 3 Morgan Books, noted as Liberty Dollars. This would be 3 books for a complete collection. I also purchased one Mercury dime book and one other one for Peace Dollars.

Anyway, each book was $2.20 (on special).

So, was that a good price? Should I have bought the whole big bunch of them and sold them on eBay?

Considering what I've seen these things going for on ebay and here, I would say so.

At the last Baltimore show they were going for $2.95 each or even more. I ended up buying used ones for fifty cents apiece. I hope they can still tone my coins!

Were these the green albums or the National Coin Albums with binders and pages?

Either way that was a steal. If it was the binder/page type -- you really should have bought them all. I've paid anywhere between $20 - $100 for these types of albums on Ebay.
