How Many Coins Do you Have At PCGS For Grading?

foodudefoodude Posts: 3,576 ✭✭✭
Hmmm ... Maybe we'll see who is responsible for the 65 Day Economy turnaround, and 50 day modern turnaround.image (although I suspect many of the bulk submitters don't post much- they are too busy sending in coins)

edited to add: 58 (two Economy submissions); In addition a 12 coin modern submission is on it's way to me.

  • Somewhere around 150 right now in 2 submissions both economy so I'm to blame. I just got back 2 submissions back this week so I was at around 200 before those made it though the plastic factory. I have a total of 6 coins out to NGC right now and should be coming back anytime.

They SHOULD be ready in a couple of weeks!
These are my first 3 submissions & the waiting is excrutiating.
Maybe now that NGC is the official grading service of the world the turnaround time will lessen, or maybe PCGS will brighten up & hire more help.
The slowest service for the highest cost is ridiculous, just because it's the best service is not a license to drag it's feet. Normal collectors cannot shell out $30 per coin for faster service, it's bad enough I have pay over $1,000 for the right to wait for my coins to be graded!

21 Econ recieved on 4/9 I figure I'll hopefully see them sometime before the ANA
  • How can some of you folks afford to have over 150 submitted at a time? That must cost a boatload of money image

I don't have any at PCGS. Cost to much money, chance of BB is to high.

Cool, I'm waiting on an economy order, about a dozen coins, received 3/24. When I submitted them the published lead time for economy was 90 days, it's now 65.

I just got my Collectors Club renewal package so I imagine I'll have a few more in soon.

    Currently, six at PCGS.

    3 moderns and 3 crossovers.

There will be significantly more crossovers submitted over the next two months.

Two, just got one back. I only send in higher end Morgans. I've had it with PCGS on other coins.

They did their best and they finally drove me away on almost everything.

I just got back a 90-CC that was 63/64 and of course it came back 63. I have a 78 and an 82 CC still waiting, one at 45 days another at 62 days. The 78 is a candidate for 64 so I'm sure it will be a 63 or less, the 82 is a solid 64, shot 65, it'll probably come back AU58......image

After a couple of very bad experiences with them, I doubt I will ever have more than 2 or 3 coins in to them at the same time and they will only be better grade/value Morgans from now on.

I've been treated much better by two other services and they will get my business for the forseeable future. I wish it were different, but experience has taught me that my choices are limited. Sadly, it seems some people just don't care much for the regular guy anynore.
"Lenin is certainly right. There is no subtler or more severe means of overturning the existing basis of society(destroy capitalism) than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose."
John Marnard Keynes, The Economic Consequences of the Peace, 1920, page 235ff
  • Deadhorse, I guess it all hinges on expectations. I have submitted 15-20 Morgans over two years and was only disappointed once. It was a clearly PL example but was not designated as such (a quick note to HRH, a return trip and all was solved). I have one 64 that may go 5 but I am not too concerned with a review at this time. If you want a higher grade, NGC may be the solution. They often are more lenient on 5 and above Morgans and do offer a higher turn around time. The iffy 4 might be 5 coins for resale would be more profitable.

10 Morgans with grades due back within a couple of weeks, hopefully...
