Whew ... I'm glad that thread is finally gone. Now we can get back to talking about cards.

So, if could own only one card of a President of the United States,
would it be of that socialist wimp John Kerry, or of that true patriot Geroge W Bush ? image

    wolfbear,
here's to hoping that owning a card of John Kerry = owning a card of an American President.
Then again, it doesn't surpirse me that someone who thinks Bush is a true patriot would post the sentence seen above.

jonnyrock - the thread concerning sexual preference and religion was deleted.
So I thought it would be ironic if I brought up politics in a confrontational way
in the same post that mentioned I was glad the other thread was gone.

See, I was kind of like making a joke ... you know, tee hee and all that ... oh never mind ...

I actually thought it was funny.

Sharpen your axes, get your tomatoes and thesaurus ready: the topic is...(drum roll please)...female umpires who read books to expand their mind since they don't know it all, who volunteer at Democratic fundraisers and march in anti-war rallies, who come home to house husbands who collect only vintage...GO!

Sweet purchase! I've often thought about starting that set, but just haven't gotten around to it ... not a bad price either I think.

I'm thinking they were a steal, but we shall see when they arrive.
I can't remember the last time I actually bought a set of anything.
guess I'll have to go on the upgrade hunt.

MF - That indeed was a steal! You did real well. Hopefully the sellers version of "vg" meets yours! ...jay

Murcerfan: That's a great set - I haven't pulled the trigger on starting one myself, but those puppies are dear in high grade. Your partial set looks like a beauty and $15 bucks a card is a nice pick indeed. Good for you! You're doing quite a little bit of thievery of late, aren't you?image

according to the psa registry, the McKinley does not count and my set is complete, so don't give me any partial nonsense or I'll come out there and pilfer those '59 Morrells your holding me out on.

The set isn't finished until the McKinley is there! Would you consider '54 Wilsons done without Tedimage

  • Absolutely not! It's the most popular card in the set!

Wasn't there a find recently involving a NM McKinley?
I think I remember an SCD article back in the '90s about that
    (that'd be the 1990s).

Is this the last day you will be able to ask that question Griffins?

    Time will tell.

Good luck to our jealous friend on the 'cold' coast image

There were McKinley cards in the last two Mastro auctions. The last auction had a PSA 5 McKinley with the set sell for over $20000 if I remember correctly. The one before had a PSA authentic/canceled McKinley with the set sell for over $40000. Quite a difference. I'd reather have the uncanceled one.
