Snipergi is buying up some awfully nice lots, looks like he just snipes, pays and enjoys - has no feedback from buyers, good feedback from sellers, so he's prolly just a collecter - what's the problem?

I agree, what's the problem? eBay allows last-minute bidding (which has been tagged with the unsavory term "sniping"). There's no rule that says you have to enter an early bid in order to bid at all. If you're worried about being sniped, put in a proxy with the absolute top price you're willing to pay (including S&H). The sniper will then have to pay more than your top price. Naturally you want it for less than your top price. Well, so does everyone else.

By the way, the Universal Law of eBay is that a particular item only sells for a huge bargain when you're the one selling it. image
