Error coins in Set Registry

Can a coin labeled with some sort of major error such as wrong planchet, split planchet, off center strike (with no mint mark visible) be included as a regular issue in a collectors registered set?

You can as long as it is the same "coin number" as the non mistake ones. Things like the 1943 Bronze Lincolns and the 44 Steel lincolns were given their own coin numbers. I have a couple of off centers in my 59-03 lincoln set.

This error would go in as a "normal" 1999 MS66 SBA
