Gothic Crown arrival

There was no blue in the fields, he must have had a reflection in the mirror fields of this gorgeous coin. Two pictures of obverse to one show to colour(tilted glass method) an one to show Cameo . image

Even got an eyeball reflected behind the head on second obverseimage

    Awesome coin.

Try holding e piece of white paper in front of the light with the tilted glass technique. It should come out pretty cool. Or a piece of black paper with a hole in it ( maybe an inch in diameter near the top of the light for some light to come through )but it willstill reflect the black.

Nice crown, but if you want really nice photos you'll have to send it to cosmic.

Bill, on the top photo I coverd the swing arm 100w reveal bulb with a pillow case, single thickness. on the tilt glass technique.
The bottom one was taken under an see through Tupperware Rectangular container 4.5 inches deep with a hole cut into it and the bottom covered with Black felt. This is basically the same as what you said. I think my small 2.1 megapixal camera may be part of the problem of not getting the detail.

You can just send it to me and I'll save you the aggravation of trying to photograph it.

I'll send you a beautiful 8x10 colour glossy of me.......

The '55 has not gotten here yet, I am making a 19' century Florin Set, had a couple of them already posted and in my sig line for awhile. will put them all up shortly, nothing fancy, mostly in the High AU area.image

Now that I have this crown and a 1887 that I have not shown yet, I may complete a 19th Century Crown set as well.image

I wish I had an older proof coin to test a few things out on but I all I got for proofs are either brandy new or old matte proofs. This thread did make me want to try the image through glass technique on my gothic florin.

Rats, I thought this was a giveaway for a minute image -- There seems to be too much clothing for this to be a BBL coin!

Seriously, that is one beautiful coin.
