Non-Sports Cards

Does anyone know if a book (Similar to the Standard Catolog of BAseball Cards) exists? I just picked up some interesting 1920's to 1930's Non Sports Cards and a 1941 Sky Kings set and wanted to see what book was on them....Jeff

  • Jeff,
I have some "Americana" books from Beckett that broke non-sports into two parts but did cover them very well. I suspect that the prices would not be helpful since they are a few years old, but the information does exist in catalogue form. I'd try a Barnes and Noble or the like.

Fuzz is correct; I don't think the Beckett books have been updated in 10 years. They broke it up from 1930-1960 and 1961 to present. Tuff Stuff puts out a magazine called "Collect", and you might want to connect with "The Wrapper" (I think the Toser's put that one out). Try searching "price guide" on eBay and see what you find. I love those old non-sports.image

Jeff, Non-Sport update has a fairly extensive price guide in their bi-monthly. It's not as comprehensive as you'd like but it's a start. You can get a sample issue Here

Those two Sport Americana books by Chris Benjamin were last updated in the 1990-1991 timeframe I believe. The prices won't necessarily be accurate, but they do provide alot of useful information.

Now if someone would just publish a book on pre-1930 nonsports cardsimageimage.....

Jeff - I looked up the 1941 Sky Kings set in the 1930-1960 Sport Americana book and couldn't find it. Could it possibly have a different name? Who's the manufacturer?

If those 1920's nonsports cards are tobacco issue, there's a great book out there; I think Stone193 posted a link somewhere recently - Mike?

They won't grade the C-3PO penis card from the '77 Star Wars set, so I doubt that they'll grade pornography.
