Great Indian Head Cents For Sale on eBay
Affordable example of this rare and desirable extreme doubled die. Only about 100 known in all grades. Coin has solid XF details with distinct lower headband line. All doubling including LIBERTY, feathers, eye and lips is clearly visible. I assume the VF-35 grading is because of a number of small marks, particularly on the obverse. Originally in an ICG VF-35 slab I really thought this was a was an upgrade candidate to XF40/45, but not this time. The trade-off on this coin is eye appeal vs. detail. It does not have the eye appeal of some Xf-40/45s that I have seen, but the detail is exceptional, which I think is more important for a major and rare variety like the 1873 DDO S-1. The "King of the Indians".
1873 Snow-1 Double Die Obverse NGC
Great eye appeal with a good amount of Red on the obverse and a beautiful outstanding brown patina bathed in Mint luster on the reverse. Reverse looks MS-66 IMO. From my former registry set and selected for exceptional eye appeal.
1866 MS-65 BN NGC
Purchased from Angel Dee's as a PQ+ hopeful upgrade candidate. Very high end for the grade with exceptional eye appeal. The winnner of this coin will be really pleased - from my former registry set.
