He is my favorite lefty - I'm proudly looking at his auto ball as I type; generously given to me by Chris Kuhlmann - he's headed to the 'Hall' IMO. I'm watching the Braves play - I miss him as a tomahawk!
    Keep us posted! and thanx.

He just walked Hocking on a full count. 9 outs to go for the no hitter though.
  • it's over, still no hitter.

Don't quote me, but I heard a rumour that Glavine was strongly urged by the players union to accept the Mets offer which was a little bit more than the Braves offer a couple of years ago. Since he was the Braves player rep and one of the most highly visible members of the Players Union. Wouldn't have looked good if he decided to stay with the team that offered less money.

Hated to see him leave Atlanta, he had been with Braves since 1987. Looks like he is pitching a lot better this year. Being a finess pitcher he has to hit his spots and get that call just a 'tad' off the corner to be effective.

The Mets have never had a pitcher throw a no hitter.....
