GOETZ: K-287 Royal Bavarian Fighter Squadron

Opus 287 THE ROYAL BAVARIAN FIGHTER SQUADRON EL 34 (Bayerische Jagdstaffel 34), 1920, Cast AE, 97.6mm, 271.10g. UNCIRCULATED, RR, Zetzmann 6041.

Memorial Medal. Inscription on the obverse, pillars “1914 & 1918” with mourning lion in military cemetary. Inscription on the reverse lists the name, rank, date, and location of the death of the fallen heroes. Inscription below the three iron crosses gives the names of the Bavarian recipients of the order Pour le Mérite (Blue Max), the highest award for individual gallantry in action during World War I.
