Well Keith, I would say you got one heck of a deal on those Hostess cards, there are 49 times as many 93 Finest Refractors. That makes your Hostess cards worth $168,996.10, nice job.

I'll give you a deal and let you take'em off my hands for $95K! LOL! Seriously, I'm glad I didn't get my hopes up for that Refractor... I know Scott had the fever for it, I hope he's ok and didn't go into cardiac arrest or a catatonic state...
Scott, if you're out there tonight... take solace in that fact that your PSA 9 OC probably picked up a grand in value! Hang in there... I predict we'll see another 6-10 of these in PSA 9 (even a 10 I bet) in the next year or so. I'm counting on it!
Well it took some time to find a new keyboard, I broke mine in half. My bid of $2999.99 at the 5 sec mark never registered. Now the ante has definity been upped well outside of the range that I am willing to go after one. Those three bidders are all friggin idiots for having done that. That card had no business going over 2K, let alone 3.5K. The only reason the one before that went over 2K, was because of throw money out the window RedSoxJeff.
Whew, had to vent there.
Oh well I guess the big dog is going to be stomping through a bunch of auctions over the next few weeks, cause now I got crap loads of money to spend.

It is interesting to look through the winner's feedback to see what else he has bought. There are a few 93 refractors, including a PSA 9 Don Mattingly.
Anyway, I'm sure you Ryan fans will find this one quite interesting, as well.
There are currently 25 graded by PSA in Mint 9, no PSA 10's. The issue at hand with this card is that the total number in existance is purportedly 250 or less. Add to that the fact that they don't come up very often and voila you have the aberation that happened tonight.
PSA 8's of this card, and I have seen two on ebay in three years, went for 800+ each time. The card should have gone for between $1600-$2000, why these idoits drove the bar so far down the road boggles my mind. Oh well maybe the auction will flush out a couple more.

Needless to say I am dumbfounded, flabbergasted, and bewildered by that price!!! Why on earth would anyone pay that much for a 10-year-old Ryan card that is NOT SCARCE by PSA standards? We can only hope some good will come out of it though... perhaps $3.5K is enough to shake out 5 or 6 more onto the bay pretty quick... plus it may spur a few more raw submissions right away. I just don't see how that price can hold up once a few more come out of the woodpile.
Let's admit that we all wish we were the seller of that card. Bill is right, this is insane. It went for more than a RC that is 25 years older. Well, not a 9 RC, but you get the picture.
Actually, a 1968 in PSA 9 could feasibly sell for what the refractor went for. I'm with Keith - give this one a little time, and the price will come down a little once some more crawl out of the woodwork. I couldn't beleienve what this one went for though. As for the Diamond Kings 1/1 card, that is probably the third or fourth 1/1 card from that set alone that I have seen on ebay, so who knows how many there are. They all look prettymuch the same, but with different combinations of border color, bat pieces, jersey pieces and autographs. The thing I don't like about that card is that the artwork makes Nolan Look like Corky from Life Goes On. At least the refractor is cool to look at.

Man, the big dawg stomped me on that 3rd Hostess (the 1976 PSA 9)... I felt like a little Japanese guy in a Godzilla flick!
Well, I guess when ya gotta have it, ya gotta have it... and I can understand that steam valve blew wide open last night! Just too bad you couldn't fix that keyboard until after this auction Scott! LOL! Just kidding... I think even at $300 this is still a good deal!
When I looked at the pops on this issue the 76 has only one PSA 9 and that was the Ryan. I really don't foresee this issues pop changing drastically because surface scratches and staining will be major issues, despite the fact that it is 28 years old. Well I guess when the next one pops up you'll get a pretty sweet deal on it, compared to the log I just ate.
I definity feel better about spending $300 on this than $3000+ on a 93 Refractor.

I am impressed, and a little in awe. I see that it will be well into the next decade before I can compete with the "big boys". I also see that I am going to have finish up a few side projects over the next year and get busy on Frank and Nolan.
Scott and Keith, you guys are awesome and it is a pleasure to watch you guys work. I guess I will have to try to make my way into the secong tier, if Jeff and Steve ever go into a coma, lol.
Have fun, Brent
