    Brent;

    Thank you... Gotta get something today as I won't be getting that Refractor... I'm holding out on that one as long as I can! I just offered it to the second high bidder... an auto acoutrement that we all know well! If he passes, I will offer it to you!

    Yea...congrats on that win Keithimage I chickened out on it (I ended up as low-bidder) because of the seller not taking Paypal, and the fact that I already have the card on an uncut three card panel.

  • Ouch, Mudflap02 laid some lumber on you there Keith. Nice pick-up though, the refractor is keeping me out of the other auctions, so you guys can make some hay. image

    Thanks guys! I really like getting old Ryan stuff so this is a nice consolation prize for me since the Refractor won't be! Good luck Scott!

    I'm guessing that lots of the Hostess and Post cards that get top grades were recently cut from panels. Right?

    Is that a problem for anyone? Isn't it the same as cutting a sheet of cards? I know it's somewhat different, but it is clearly pretty darn similar.

    I'm not taking a side...just tossing out the question.
  • Ajw,

    Actually the panel cards were ment to be cut out, the uncut sheets are not. They were supposed to be used as posters or framed artwork. Unfortunately, many are cut into cards and sent to grading companies that don't have a problem grading uncut sheet cards. PSA will not grade them and they are quite proficient at detecting them.

    So I guess the answer to you question is, at least I don't have a problem with graded panel cards.

    Steve;

    I have been getting boxes, panels, and sigles of these for many years... and while I know I could trim out something that could grade a 9, the fact is most of these cards (that I've seen) have marked and scratched surfaces from being dragged around on the bottom of a box... so when I saw these come up in strict Mint, I decided to focus on getting them rather than the 93 Refractor... which is another insane story in itself! Yowza!

    I hear you and agree with you completely Keith. I would have bid further on those Hostess Ryans myself, but I just try to limit my $50+ deals to Paypal, especially with sellers I haven't dealt with before. Since this seller doesn't appear to take Paypal, I opted out in the hopes that more will show up in the future.

    As for that '93 Refractor, I guess I really will have to "settle" for only having the regular version in PSA 9image That price is incomprehensible to meimage

    Again congratsimage Those Hostess' are great pickups!image
