Magnificent Brockage!!

This is a 74mm bronze medallion by Georges Henri Prud'homme struck in 1920 to commemorate the election of Alexandre Millerand to the presidency of the French Republic. Both sides appear to have the rev. image (with the seated woman) struck into the planchet before being properly struck. This is very clear on the reverse where the incused brockage displays the woman's head at 3 o'clock, facing back towards the "unghosted" woman. On the obverse, the "ghost" has the same orientation but it is some 25% of the distance below the horizontal centerline of the medal. It's hard to see the ghost head on the obv. since the oak branch fairly well obliterates it; the key to look for is her extended arm holding the stylus.

Very dramatic error! I would, however, prefer a piece like this without the error.

I would like an unblemished example too as they would make a great conversation pair. This is a very scarce medal, however, it seems as I've not seen another in any grade.
