avoid sportscards_international on ebay at all costs

this could be the worst ebayer i've ever dealt with. two months ago, i won something cheap (Saku Koivu PSA 9 rookie for $2 or something) and paid immediately via check. 3 weeks later, i get a reminder-to-pay alert from them. i emailed saying payment had been sent awhile back, they told me they did not get it. i said screw it and just sent another check. fast forward to today, 5 weeks later. still no card, so i emailed them again. no response this time. but i did check with my bank, and BOTH checks were cashed awhile back. now he's got two payments from me, and i have no card from him. i have a feeling he reads the boards, so i will probably get a neg for this. couldn't care less. it's a small price to pay to be able to warn people about this jackass.

oh and also, soon after i won the auction i started getting sportscard int'l newsletters in my yahoo acct. i was never asked if i wanted to join, my email address was added automatically when it was given to them after the auction. i don't know if this is against ebay rules, but it should be. i did however decide that since he took the liberty of signing my email address up for newsletters, i signed his email address up for a few newsletters as well.

  • there are supposed to be new spam laws that if someone sells your email, or gives it to a spammer they can be liable for it. As for the checks, if he does the FVF credit, send a copy of the cashed checks to ebay. He may have done this before and could be suspended. for the future never send a second payment until you are absolutely sure they didn't get the first.
