Topic for discussion: threads with a short shelf life

Folks,

I was thinking about some of the recent issues here, in particular the one having to do with multiple threads and multiple TTT'ing. I know that nearly all these unofficial and self-policing rules are intended to maintain some sort of fairness and consideration for the participants here as a whole. I think that is a notion that all can support.

I've noticed, however, that these unofficial rules are good for the typical B/S/T-type of thread. These tend to be ones with a shelf life of several days to a week or so. For these, I can see how multiple threads and multiple TTT's can be really annoying.

However, I want to ask the membership here how we feel about those threads whose shelf life is intended to last a day or two tops. It's effectiveness is best achieved within a compacted timeframe. Is there anyway to handle this sort of thread that keeps in mind the poster's need to update *and* not become a matter of inconsideration for the rest of the forum users?

Sincere, non-partisan comments are especially welcome!

    EVP,

My opinion is that it does not matter whether you have an ebay auction that is expiring in 2 days or a coin that you would like to sell here directly in the next two weeks, two months, or two years. Access to this free forum to advertise your product should be equal, and all participants should abide by the same rules. One "active" thread per person and one "TTT" per day is the unofficial rule/guideline which allows everyone to have equal access.

If clarification or comment is warranted, particularly if it is for the benefit for the membership as a whole (ranging from "I recommend that you avoid this carpetbagging slimeball" to "This is a great coin!" including "Could you post a picture/price?"), a reply to the thread is appropriate.

    That's how I see it.

What about threads that have NOTHING to do with BUYING, SELLING or TRADING being posted to this board?

THAT"S what is starting to annoy me!image

All this talk about how many threads we should have, or how many TTT's should be limited to another board, NOT this one.
Maybe a "RULES" board, one were the 'rules' are posted on top, & discussed there (or not-just the rules for ALL other boards on CU).

These threads drop someone who is trying to B/S/T off the first page, & whether we like to admit it or not, it DOES make a difference whether you're on page 1 or not.

That being said, I need to TTT my thread!
