actually, I would assume that whoever purchases this will want it to be in good condition when they receive it. The seller could crush the box and ship it for a couple buck$, or they can take the time to double box it securely so it WONT crush. The box wont way much, but it will be considerably larger than simply shipping a single card. I think $6.00 is totally fair shipping & HANDLING (which you people often tend to forget).
I dont see anything wrong with this auction. All i see is a good title. What is the auction for? A WAX BOX! The title will attract attention for the seller (hence the hardon and following case of blueb@lls it gave Gradinator). The seller describes the item exactly as it is.
There's nothing intentionally misleading about it, but he probably should put "empty" in the title.
This reminds me of these guys who sold an empty Playstation 2 box on ebay. This was back when PS2 came out and people were paying $800 or so ($199 SRP) to get one in time for Christmas. The auction was, let's say, carefully worded to avoid claiming that the machine was actually inside the box, but neither did it explicitly say the box was empty. Some bidders figured it out and retracted their bids and started sending warning emails to other bidders, but it didn't help. AFAIK, it got bid up to $600 or so, the bidder paid and they shipped the box. I don't know what happened after that.
WANTED: 2005 Origins Old Judge Brown #/20 and Black 1/1s, 2000 Ultimate Victory Gold #/25 2004 UD Legends Bake McBride autos & parallels, and 1974 Topps #601 PSA 9 Rare Grady Sizemore parallels, printing plates, autographs
This guy is wasting bidder's time that are looking for a full waxbox. Just like the guy that says "PSA 9 Nolan Ryan Rookie" but when you go to look at it, it is a 9 OC. Not illegal, but definite spam style selling.

Yeah, that's one of those that irritate me too, but at least people catch that one and avoid bidding on it.
Here's another. People that spam their title with "PSA" so that if you are doing a search for 1952 Topps PSA cards, you get the ones that are "'52 Mantle PRO w/PSA" and crap like that. My standard search is "1952 Topps PSA" and here's another one that pops up:
