i have a really nice eye appealling masonic medal for sale it is 2/16 of an inch larger in diameter than a morgan dollar
it is i tyink lead struck and then gold washed/plated? really nice antique old gold look and just a fantastic medal the rims have some spots where the gold wash flaked off really not as bad as it sounds and you can see the lead type of metal the coin was struck with? or squeezed with a hydrolic press
no seam so it was not cast with the rim edge of the coin looks struck to me greast detail and a fantastic original patina
the reverse has the words seal of the grand lodge in new hampshire 1789 at 6 pm on the reverse
in the middle is the seal which is really cool with hederility and the masons compass
the obverse has the words around the edge of the coin major general john sullivanfirst grand master of new hampshire
and in the middle of the coin is the general himself in full revolutionary war generals uniform wearing a sword and holding a 7 foot pike/spear
the eye appeal is fantastic and never cleaned or dipped with original neat patina ifi had to grade this medel it would be gem.......... no nicks no edge bumps
myself i date this medal late 19 century? early 20 century?
would not surprise me in the least if it was made in 1889
anyway i am offering it here for $25 dollars plus 5 dollars first class shipping fully insured
please pm me if interested
