Now you know the news is bad ...

With the burgeoning complaints on the various live chat and discussion forums about the new "My eBay", eBay has once more demonstrated its superior customer service ... by turning off all the community boards. Now that's a novel, speedy -- and effective -- way to eliminate customer complaints.

I guess we can still complain about it here!

    (1) I have to click five-seven times and wait, wait, wait to see what I want vs V.1 when I clicked just one time.
    (2) The page is too big for the 800x600 pixel display setting. "So what?" you say. My wife likes the screen set at 800x600 so she can see what pages she's surfing.

There are some nice features, though.

Aside from the Teletubby-ish graphics, I rather liked it too. I understand there's a lot more problems with the selling side than with the buying side with the new s/w. Of course, it's useless if I can't open it.

Oh, BTW, although the community boards are still blocked off, I can still access the eBay Answer Center (an oxymoron if there ever was one), apparently since I was logged into it.

    << <i>What's a thrifty nickel? >>

A midwestern (and perhaps beyond) classified ad newspaper for selling just about anything, but usually used cars, announcing garage sales, lawn and farm equipment and just about anything else you can imagine.

Free for the taking, but advertising costs $$$.

Is there a way to collapse each section like the old page? That is the main thing that bugs the heck out of me with the new one. Then I can look at each section one at a time without having to go back to the left side and figure out which link does the same thing... Just a crabby old man I guess. image

  • Here's a neat thing about the new pages. I just noticed that if you are selling, your listing will not only include the number of bids you have, but also the number of people that have your item on watch. That's pretty cool!! image

Agreed. That is a feature I like already.
