Son, you're on the darkside now. They only wish they had half dollars.

Most of their coins feature strange languages and pictures of people you've never heard of. Their coins are often oddly-shaped, with holes in the center. They are usually made out of strange materials like aluminum or plastic.

Hope that clears things up for you!

Jeff, I know where I am at. I had two pics of my Canadian half dollars that Carl sent me but I accidentally deleted the pics and at this time am too lazy to reload them. So what do they call all of there different 50 cent pieces?image

Canada? That's practically the US, isn't it?

Well, where else are you going to post them? There is no way they would let me get away with posting them on the US coin forum.image

It was a good try, Kyle. image

On the Greyside, they call them 50 cent pieces. Around here a 2 Lire coin, a 2 Franc... some florins... oh any number of coins would at least be about the size of a half dollar--gulp--50 cent piece.

Since 1Jester has been gone, it's been difficult to get picture threads going on the darkside. But, heck I'll throw a picture up of one of Jester's own coins. This is a one Rupee coin from India. Roughly the size of your 50 cent pieces:

Now post your pictures, and we'll see if maybe we can get some other people to post pictures of their coins.

Here is a pretty 1961 Canadian dollar PL65 Cameo. I have kind of fallen in love with the 50's, 60's era Canadian coins.

This is a French 2 Franc coin, Kyle. It is roughly the size of a 50 cent piece.

In this design you can see the inspiration for the US Liberty Walking half dollar.

    Nice coins.

Coinaddict, IMO the obverse design on the Philippines centavo and peso is one of the classic Dark Side designs.

Spinynorman has a picture of a 20 centavo coin in his post.
