I saw one (common date) on Whitlow's site, and I think Pinnacle's site, within the past few months.

You might consider putting it on a want list.

    Alan,

I was site surfing today and remembered you were looking for a MS68 Morgan.

    Here's an 1881S... on Whitlow's site.

My local dealer has one in an old PCGS green tag holder with impressive luster and cameo....however the coin was obviously spittled on when being graded and now sports a number of dark specks on the obverse...what a shame. At least it didn't get fingerprinted.

These things are "common" enough -- don't quibble with me over my word choice -- that you really should buy one sight-seen from someone reputable and with a return policy.

Heritage has an 1881-S MS68 up for auction in the Long Beach coin and stamp show.

You can see it on the heritage web site: www.heritagecoin.com
and it is probably shoing up on eBay also.

    Auction ends next week!

    Good Luck!
