Special Website For PCGS-PR70DCAM & MS70 Modern Coins

wondercoinwondercoin Posts: 16,979 ✭✭✭✭✭
I have now added an additional website (www.wondercoins.com), which will primarily set out on a daily basis my current inventory of available PCGS-PR70DCAM and PCGS-MS70 modern coins (and other finest known or interesting modern coins). I will still maintain my www.wondercoin.com and www.pcgswholesale.com sites for both classic and modern coins , but, this new site is designed to make it easy for modern coin collectors and dealers to go to a specific site dedicated to modern coins and see exactly what I have in stock on a daily basis in the way of finest known modern coins.

    Any plan to include prices???

Doug: Once the site gets underway over the next month or two, I hope to have a few hundred or more different coins available on a daily basis (with changing inventory daily). I simply couldn't keep up on a daily basis with the ever changing prices on that many coins. However, down the road, I could also see pricing certain coins that have had a solid track record of trading around a particular level.

Fair question and one I will seriously think about.

Any plans to make the site visually appealing?

Dbldie55: That is actually a fair question as well.

If I find the site needs to get "dressed up", the "jeans and teeshirt" approach will, of course, have to go.

Nice idea... if you ever expand into listing your MS Roosies, I may have to pay you rent for spending so much time there. image

Dan: Thanks. Of course, I also carry Roosies on my www.wondercoin.com site. And, for anyone desireous of registering a complete set of coins (e.g. Proof state quarters, Kennedy Half Dollars, silver Eagles, etc) - I also have the MS69 and PR69 pieces of most coins that would fill in a set anyone is building. But, my goal in creating www.wondercoins.com is to simply have a separate site where collectors and dealers looking for the tougher modern coins can go and find them easily.

Great site! I would not be overly concerned about the visuals, but I would think that a link to your other site should be prominent. The key will be keeping it current in that sold items are removed immediately.

Good luck and keep up the good work. I remember the PF70 CVC I bought from you at quite a nice price.

DC: Thanks. Wasn't that the MS70 CVC I sold you?

I really enjoy collecting the MS70 $5 Modern Gold Commems myself. I am #22 on the Registry now (58% complete) on a set I am working on with my son. To each his own, but for me personally, a coin like the 1995W $5 MS Civil War Battlefield Preservation Gold with a mintage of a scant 12,735 coins, rivals equally lovely Silver Commem coins such as the 1936 Battle of Gettsburg (mintage 26,928) or the 1937 Battle of Antietam (mintage 18,028). Time will tell if future generations also agree. For example, two generations ago, few collectors really cared about BTW and Wash Carver Commem coins, from what I have read and heard . image

Wondercoin, yes I bought the MS70 CVC from you a couple of years ago. I wish I still had it, but when I became a Mercateer I decided not (a mistake perhaps) to pursue the MS70 gold commemoratives. I do love the Mercs and I think I will be looking at some high grade moderns when I start my type set.

The high grade proof coins are the perfect way (IMHO) to start out in a type set. I say this because you can see how technology has changed from the late 1790s and early 1800s through the implementation of the steam press in 1836 on up to our incredible processes we now use.

By the way, as a few people have asked, here is the timing for new coins to be entered on the website each day (and most days I expect there to be new coins coming and other coins going):

MONDAY - THURSDAY - New coins will be listed generally between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. CA time.

FRIDAY - New coins will be listed generally by 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning and I will be available to discuss the coins generally until around noon on Saturday as well.

    Mitch,

Check out your website today. Yes it does look a little like Tulvings, but if it works why not? As you know this time last year I had the top Proof silver Eagle set, and many of the Top comm's sets, sold them to people with way too much money and started over, back in the top 5 with most of my set and climbing with your help and mike petcheck's help and Tod from Cameo CC,
    Thanks for your help,

Sam: Thanks. I told you a few months ago, your competition from beneath you on the list will be coming from me as well as anyone else who might have eyes on the tops spots! I am building all the MS Commem sets (half dollar, dollar, $5 Gold Commem) with my son. I hope to join you in the "top 5" one day image Until then, I will sell you coins we both need (don't worry about that) - but, I do miss that Yellowstone!! image
