That coin and its brothers, are all very deceptive and beautiful to the uninitiated.

  • It looks more like typical blow torch toning.
  • Hmm, it's from our 'friend' gototoning coins. A scamartist who 'cooks' his coins. This one is deceptive. It doesn't look as AT as most of his coins. I'm sorry, I don't know about this one. It could be either NT or AT, but knowning him, it's most likely artifical toning image

This is formally tonecoin2003 from what I've heard. Bidders identities private, feedback private = stay away. I emailed him and asked what he uses to get that kind of toning.

I wonder if this yahoo is ever going to get tired of people like us emailing him and asking him about his AT methods... This coin has always made me laugh- a 38th anniversary coin??!!?? It makes zero sense, politics as usual.... image

Blowtorch works pretty good if you want this kind of ATimage

Considering it's got a perfect target (!) on both sides (!) and the colors look off, it's no doubt artificial...

You have to admit, he's gotten alot better with the consistencyof his concentric circles.

They used to bleed into each other, he's geting the process down. I guess practice does help. Of course his colors are always the same and they all look fake as can be.

Wonder how long before he changes his name again?
"Lenin is certainly right. There is no subtler or more severe means of overturning the existing basis of society(destroy capitalism) than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose."

And also the fact that all his coins are the freakin' same!!! What are the chances? Why, he must roam the four corners of the earth to find a constant supply of target rainbow toned coins that all look like this...

I received this response to my question:

    HI THERE, HOW'S GOING!
IT IS NICE COIN, BUT SORRY I DON'T KNOW HOW TO TONE THEM. I JUST BUY AND SELL THEM.
    YOU HAVE A GOOD NIGHT!
    JING

I believe that's the same reponse he always gives.

Actually it does make a little sense, 38th aniversary of the treaty that established the demilitarized zone at the 38th parallel.
