Russ, Am I due a free submission?

Russ, you seem to have these submission due dates down to a science so this question is for you. PCGS received my submission on 4/21 and it was a 15 Day Regular type. Today is 5/17 and still no grade. I calculate that as one or two days late. How about you?

PCGS recieved my order on 4/23/04 and today is 5/17/04. I think PCGS had a show between these dates so I am sure it pushed it back some. Mine was a free submission so they are most likely setting it on the backburner to get the paying customers their orders graded because if they are late on my free submissions, they won't owe me free submission vouchers. If regular submissions are 15 day return, mine has been there for 17 days, counting today.

PCGS states on the club submission form (freebies) that it is approximately 21 days for grading. With the recent shows this time most likely has been pushed back and it maybe up to 30 days plus on the club submissions. I would imagine that paid submissions would get first crack so PCGS would not have to pay out vouchers.

My club submission was logged in 4 May so I am not expecting to hear any news until sometime in June. Of course there are some shows coming up the first part of June as well as the dealer/registry set collectors deal in Vegas in June also so it maybe longer before we get any news.

    rlawsha,

You're either on business day 12 or 13 depending on how much travel time PCGS allowed for the show.

    Thanks Russ,

I guess as a rule of thumb then a 15 day Regular submission is about a month. There seems to be a show once or twice every month so it always seems to come into play as far as submission times go. I say they scrap the whole system and start over with a new pricing schedule based on guaranteed calendar days. Something like $100 - 1 day, $50 - 3 day, $25 - 7 day, etc on down the line. Grading times have turned into a real mess.

    By the way Russ,

Maybe your set should be called IPOTAHD. In Pursuit of the Almighty HALF dollar.....
  • my 4 free submissions were logged in on 4/22/04 , so i called them today to get a idea of when i might get some grades and they told me paid submissions come first and that they get to the free submissions when they can !
