Hi guys/gals I am new to this board as far as posting is concerned. I recently got back my $5 submission
special with ok results but most of it was modern football. Anyway I noticed something interesting as far
as the grading goes. Months back I submitted four Lawrence Taylor rookie cards as follows:
SGC 92, GEM Grading Service 10, and two BGS 8.5's, I submitted these uncracked still in there cases for PSA 9 crossovers, needless to say they all came back as not meeting the criteria for a PSA 9.
I resubmitted them after cracking them out of the cases, during the $5 dollar special and here are the results:
SGC 92- PSA 8 (not surprising)
GEM Grading 10 PSA 8
BGS 8.5 PSA 9
BGS 8.5 PSA 9
seems to me cracking them out is the way to go.
Thanks for reading

Welcome to the board!
Ya gotta love when you do get the 9!!!! But, you're right - it would be nice if it happened on the first submission!
Mark and I went to High School together - before cards flooded the market - but after they stopped selling them one series at a time!
