I've got a 1797 1/2 Cent, that says Pl. Edge C-1 on the holder. What does this C-1 mean?

Cohen 1. A variety.
Roger Cohen wrote a book on the Half Cents, "The Little Half Sisters".

I'm not complaining. This was something from my Dad's collection. I don't really collect copper, so wasn't sure what the heck was going on. Thanks for the info.

I've tried a few times, it is a Fair 2, so it ain't much to write home about. However, it does have deep sentimental value to me since it was my Dad's. He passed away in 1998. He was a pretty young guy (50 years old) and I don't have a lot to remember him by, so this would definitely be a permanent part of my collection.
