Can anyone help me with this ANACS grade?

I sent in a 1942-P 5FS Jefferson for grading to ANACS

I just received it back and it is graded MS65 5 Steps 1942-P/P

Does the P/P mean its a double die mint mark? Looked in PCGS price guide and it doesnt show a p/p

ANy help is appreciated

Yea, It means there is doubling on the mintmark. ANACS recognizes a lot more varieties than PCGS and NGC.

Eagles, the cherrypickers guide shows 2 ddrevs for your coin and 1 triple die reverse, I'll bet it is one of these, nice of them to put that on the holder for you!--------------------BigE

What is the best way to find out valuation and total population of this variety?

anacs variety attribution is 2d best, imo. i sincerely believe segs is #1. ngc & pcgs are horribly distant in that department.

It's a repunched mintmark, not a doubled die. BigE, you must be thinking of 1945, not 1942. You would need to figure out which RPM it is to get an idea of value, try the CONECA website for a start.
