Poll concerning new card added to All-Time QB Set

PSA has sent a poll asking if Tom Brady should be added to the All-Time QB set. The fact that Kurt Warner was just removed from the set should be evidence enough that Brady isn't quite ready to be added. The same for Peyton Manning and Steve McNair. All are candidates to be future additions, but if their career ended today would they be worthy of being part of the ALL-Time Great QB set?

Why not wait until the guy is a lock before adding him?

Anyway, I voted no that he should not YET be added. I was wondering what the Forum take on this would be...

  • Being a Titan's season ticket holder, it's hard for me to unbiased with Steve being in your list. But, I think it would premature at this point to include them in an all-time great list. Who would be closest to that milestone? Undecided. They each have different strong points. Peyton has phenomenal statistics, McNair is an old school quarterback that sacrifices his body for wins, and Brady just wins over and over.

It makes me happy to see the recognition that Steve has received the past two years after the early years of hearing idiots in the stadium scream “put Macdonald in” after every incomplete pass he threw.

I’ve got another question for you football savvy guys. If Eddie George retired today, would he be elected to the Hall of Fame? I had never really thought of him in that light until last year after he reached a couple of impressive milestones.
  • I agree. I voted NO also.

Not yet for Brady, or Manning or McNair. I don't think Eddie George gets in the hall yet. He has 10,000 yards, but a low yards per rush average and nothing much else to his name. Compare to Ottis Anderson, who has more yards and a Super Bowl MVP, but is not in the hall.

  • I voted no too. I don't think he's been in the league long enough to merit all-time status. What I'm a little concerned about is that we are seeing changes in the structure of some of these sets. In the K. Warner scenario, someone who normally wouldn't buy that particular Warner card, buys it because they are participating in the "All-Time QB" set. 1 year later the card is taken out and now that collector is holding a card they don't really want.
I think that cards should be added to these sets, but once a card is in the set, it should stay.
I also believe cards should not be changed (now you know how I voted on the Maynard issue)
