Need some help on 1997-98 Topps Finest ser. 2

Opened a box of Topps finest 97-98 Series 2. Found 2 Grant Hill cards in one pack. Both were the gold "rare" versions, but one was made like an action packed card and the other is normal. The normal card doesn't concern me, but the one made like an action packed card was also cut different, apparently on purpose. The other action packed type cards I pulled from the box aren't cut like this, only this one, is it supposed to be like that?

So I found out it's a gold embossed card, but are the gold cards cut different vs. silver and bronze embosses?

I think the gold embossed cards were the only ones that were die-cut.
