Opinion on submitting crossovers

Just curious as to everyone's opinion on submitting crossovers to PSA. Is it best to break them out of the holders and then submit or do you just send the card in the holder and let PSA break them out?
The reason I ask is that I'm wondering if PSA takes into account the grade the other grading company gave the card. For example, I've got a 1960 Topps Yaz that graded a BCCG 9 and would love to see it cross to a PSA 8, but I'm wondering if PSA has a unspoken conversion they do for grades, like BCCG 9 = PSA 7 or SGC 84 = PSA 7 or something like that. Plus, I wonder if you try sending them PRO or PCG, etc cards, if they are hypervigilant at looking for a trimmed specimen, stereotyping the grading company.

For cards that I need for registry sets I crack them out and submit them, for the most part, because people generally state in here that is the safer method for a more accurate grade.
For cards that I am trying to sell and will take a financial hit for if they cross one grade lower, I send them in their current holders with a minimum grade. I recently bought a card in an SGC 98 holder that I paid significantly less than a PSA 10 equivilent but a little more than a PSA 9 sells for. I have sent it in for the crossover service with a minimum grade of 10. If it crosses, I can sell it for more money, if it does not cross I can always still sell it in the SGC holder.
Lastly, if a card looks undergraded by a major company and I am resubmitting the card to PSA I would crack it out as the chances of PSA giving out a higher grade on the crossover service are less likely.

The 60 Yaz is a tough card in a PSA 8. But why would anbody grade a Yaz rookie with BCCG?
I would break it out of the holder and send it in if you think it has a good chance at an 8. Check the surface carefully before you submit it as I doubt you will get an 8 if there is print snow.
I've had good luck crossing over SGC graded cards to PSA, most come back as the same grade and a couple cards have come back a grade higher. I crossed over two KSA card and both came back one full grade lower. It's a crap shoot for sure.
