Anyone deal with (555)?

They've got some raw available. Just wondering what I might expect if it's labeled NM/MT.

From numerous transactions, I'd say they're about typical of raw card sellers on eBay.

If you cherry pick what they call NM/MT cards, you'll generally end up with NM cards.
If you cherry pick what they call NM cards, you'll generally end up with EXMT cards.

I continue to aquire cards from them from time to time, but only to fill my raw sets.

    I'll echo the other guys:

Pretty solid ..... based on "ebay standards"

Great for filling out raw sets with NMish cards.

    What Wolf said..........
    Good for you.
  • I'm not sure what happened because I thought they were reputable until I bought a 64 Topps Minoso card from them on eBay. When the card arrived it was way off center and not the card I saw in the scan. (The scan was removed from the listing near the end)

Unfortunately, I returned the card and asked for a refund.... No replies to my emails or phone calls and no refund.

Now I see their eBay account has been removed!

Does anyone know what happened to them? I see their web site is still active but I certainly wouldn't risk making a purchase!

  • Hit or miss with 555.

They stopped doing business on ebay and moved everything to their website. I got this email from them the other day.

    Previous Ebay customer,

We are proud to announce that we have moved all vintage cards sales to our new website. We are contacting all of you to let you know that any new cards we sell, will be sold on our site. We have already broken over 20 sets this year alone with great success. If you are looking for any cards please bookmark our site. We are adding over 5,000 new cards a week, just like we have for 7 years on ebay. Our web address is....

We have doing away with our old email address so any new questions should be sent to bradgriffin@vintage-sports-cards.com or go to the "contact us" form on the site. We want to thank all of our loyal customers for 7 great years on ebay and hope and pray that you will become a repeat customer on our website.

    Thanks again!!

Ditto what Wolfbear said only alittle worse in my dealings with them...look over their so-so scans very closely. I got so fed up that I won't even look at their auctions anymore. Returns were a hassle.

were they the ones cracking nicely centered psa 5's and selling as NM? Similar to card-collector-corner and greatlakesacutionhouse?
  • great_lakes_auction_house buys under the name crab-chucks. I haven't seen them with much for sale lately but I've seen other auctions that look eerily similar to them. Anyone have any info. on this?
  • I had pretty good luck with them a few times cherry picking some 70's football cards.
I then ran into the same problem as "LateBloomer" I recieved a 1976 Lynn Swann card that was not the one pictured in the auction.
To their credit I did return it and recieved full refund.

I have got some nice cards from them, but be aware of how they list a card condition. Sometimes they mix in NM/NM-M and NM-M.
Other than the Swann card I have no real complaints about previous cards I have gotten.
  • DANGEROUS...............numerous 55B Fb sold as Nm or better with notorious back paper wrinkles. It's happened to me more than once. I asked them to block me as a bidder.
  • This seller looks very similar to great lakes and they're also in Michigan.
