How reputable is ICG and their slabs?

I hear that ICG has the #1 slab in the business, but I wanted to see what the opinions on their grading standards were to everyone? Any info appreciated. Thanks.
P.S. Congrats to the winners of the poorguy1 contest. Alot of beautiful coins posted there. I was drooling for a little bit.

Nevermind their blatant overgrading of that modern stuff.
With that said, I've found a few decent coins in ICG holders.....go figure.

coins. Unless you get the coins for 20 cents on the dollar you will
never get you money back out of them. ANACS and PCI do a pretty
good job behind PCGS and NGC. One good thing about PCI is the
use a similar grading technique to PCGS and you can usually get
PCI coins to cross to PCGS and loose one grade crossing. I.E.
PCI MS65 PCGS MS64. Sometimes PCI is right on with PCGS.
I have never gotten an ICG coin to cross at PCGS or NGC or ANACS
or PCI.

You can always get it in the slab you want it in later.

Unless you're talking about Green holders, you're wrong. The Gold holders are terribly loose, and go in the category of lowest tier... with ACG and NTC in terms of quality.
A site dedicated to the sale of rare and high MS grade Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars. All coins are graded by ICG, PCGS, NGC, or Anacs, and are priced well below PCGS values.
