Population Report

I am sure this has come up before but I would like some info.

I read many threads where people are cracking open freshly graded cards and resubmitting them. feeling they got cheated a grade. Some times the cards get the desired grade and some do not, this has to mess up the population report. Also I read of sending cards for a review. When a card is sent in under a review does this meen PSA would review the grade and sometimes give it a new grade? If so do they adjust the pop report?

It would say that cracking open cards and resubmitting them would mess the pop report up in a major way. PSA must be aware of this practice, do they consider this in reports?

This came up last week on another thread... I don't have the link to it, but it was revealed by some kind soul that you can send the flips from the cracked slabs back to PSA (separately from the cards!) and they'll adjust the Pop Report accordingly.
  • You got it, with all the resubmitting that goes on, I would bet that the PSA 7 and PSA 8 pops are probably a little off. I also know that when Beckett debut their BVG service at least 4 Ryan PSA 9's were cracked out and sent to Beckett and became BVG 9's, because Beckett was garnering better prices at the time. At least three of these have found their way back into PSA 9 holders.

Yes, I send my flips back all the time and they take them off the pop report.
