1948 Topps

I was looking at the pop report for '48 Swell Sport Thrills and saw this listing - looks like a lot of cards for a mislabel - anybody know what this issue is?

    Mark-
Your link just goes to PSA signup. Are you trying to link the pop report for the Swell Sport Thrills, or Babe Ruth Story sets?

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

  • Mark is right. After putting in the pop report password, there is a pop report listing for 1948 Topps with a bunch of cards listed.

I have no idea what they are, but it certainly looks strange.

    Now Im VERY curious image.

I think these are the Topps Magic Photo cards... stamp-size cards that a kid could expose in sunlight to reveal a crude photo of a player... it wasn't just baseball players I think, but I've only seen pictures of these and I am a little fuzzy on the details. They were pretty ugly little things kind of like badly exposed photos... many were difficult to see because the quality of the image depended on how well the kid exposed it! Pus, 50+ years later, many have faded significantly.
