Ever buy from seller w/private feedback?

What possible reason could someone have for keeping their feedback private?

Why?

When we look at someones feedback, we can click the link to see there past transactions. Perhaps some of the sellers who want Private feedback do not want you to see what they recently bought or sold...jay

I am sure he just got blasted by someone, and doesn't want anyone to see it. His percentage is still high, but on how many transactions? No way to tell now...

And, why not put the scan in the auction? That bothers me even more than the private feedback.

Good question - I always wondered why bandits wear those silly masks.

And what's up with the Route 66 motif? Last time I checked it didn't run through Kentucky.

Or is it somehow foreshadowing highway robbery? image
  • I think some people just want to keep to themselves. If you're just buying, there's really no harm imo. As a seller it can hurt as people get suspcious. I have 100% positive and used to have private feedback but made it open per request of people who did bid on my stuff after they saw I wasn't hiding anything. Also people who frequently "flip" cards do it so people can't see how much you paid after 2 weeks whereas feedback sticks for 3 months I think. Just my 2 cents.

that one doesn't make sense , 1 negative over a year ago, why would they go private. enough to scare me away

What's even more suspicious is when both the seller and the auction are private. Then you can't see that the other "bids" are shills from accounts with no feedback history.

I can see why someone would want to keep his purchase prices private. But since scammers also use that to conceal the fact that they have never sold a high-end card before, I'd still avoid.

My question is why does he not include a scan of the card on the web page and suggests you email him for one? that in itself would scare me away.
    Good for you.
  • I think IM with cornholio on this one. There is a good chance that he just bought the card for much less and doesnt want anyone to see that. Aside from that, there is no apparent problem with the feedback.

I don't bid on private auctions or from sellers who have private feedback.

  • Ditto to the 2 previous posts. I'm sure that 99% of people with private feedback, have horrible feedback.
