Is this worth submitting? Thoughts on a grade

I have a 1965 OPC Pete Rose that looks pretty good. I have no experience with OPC cards so I am looking for some advice. OPC is not in the SMR, so is there any reference for market value? A PSA 8 on eBay sold for $470, but there have been no other recent sales.

Here is the picture...

edited--picture not working....can someone help me with this...its over the 50K upload limit I think.

See my edit---the pic is in an email but will not display, even on my computer, when I save it to My Pictures file. I tried to upload it as is but it is over the 50KB limit as well.

I would definitely get that graded - depending on the corners and surface, I think you can expect a colid 8, maybe higher.
  • Fuzz guesses a 7 as the top left corner looks a little soft. But it looks like a very nice card. I'd slab.
OPC are few and far between and a high end copy should out distance SMR for Topps.
Wanted: Bell Brands FB and BB, Chiefs regionals especially those ugly milk cards, Coke caps, Topps and Fleer inserts and test issues from the 60's. 1981 FB Rack pack w/ Jan Stenerud on top.

Corner may be a little soft, but for an OPC with that great centering and such a clean cut I would think higher than a 7.

"Slab"-solutely - the centering on that baby alone makes it shine - whatever grade you get, there should be no qualifier! Hard to compare off a computer scan, plus your scan is larger than the graded one - but three of the corners look slightly fuzzy and the top and left edges look slightly notched. Still, a 7 or 8 - have you louped the corners?

Some corners show the tiniest touches, but still fall within the guidelines for an 8. I think it has a shot at 8. Would be a stretch to call it 9, but the surface is clean, no wrinkles under magnification, great centering, and bright color, so I think it would get a 7 or 8. What would you put the value at? 1/1 PSA 8 sold for $470. Between Rose Master Collectors and OPC guys, could a 7 or 8 hold value?

I would recommend you slab it as well. With the wired-cut OPC cards, fuzzy edges and occasional soft corners are common for pack fresh cards. PSA normally gives consideration to OPC cards. Looks like you have a well-surfaced, beautifully centered card.
