What would you do?

I won four auctions from "Discountcardz" on Ebay about two weeks ago, his end of auction e-mails only included three of the four cards. I replied to him three times over the course of the last two weeks to get a total for all four cards and didn't get a response any time. Today I get a second notice from him saying it has been 15 days since the end of the auctions and he has not received payment, this time it includes all four cards and $5 shipping for four cards (the auction contained shipping prices so I can't complain about that but you and I both know that it will show up with less than $1.50 worth of postage).
My question is: Would you send the money order (doesn't take Paypal) or not? My thought is, if he can't even respond to an e-mail, why would he take the time to mail the cards. He has 11642 positive and 243 negative, so the feedback means nothing to him.
Just curious as to what everybody else thinks, I will send the money, but I have a bad feeling about this one.image

Send him a Postal money order. If he doesn't send the cards, he is at risk for mail fraud charges.

With current trending, sounds like you're lucky that, after 15 days with no payment, your cards aren't back up on the 'bay with a NPB report on you! Not that I think that's right - it absolutely bites - but with almost 12,000 positives, this is a busy guy and it sounds like something got missed on his end at the git go. I'd take his reminder as a good thing.

many of the high volume dealers just don't reply to emails. I don't think it's right but it is a nature of the beast. I have asked questions to dsl several times and never got a response.
  • I bought from him one time in the past and will never buy from again. I paid for 3 multiple auctions and insurance. Got all the cards 3-4 weeks later with no insurance. E-mailed why no insurance or refund. Never received a response.

To me that is just bad business. There is always time to e-mail a buyer or potential buyer. That is part of your non-seen feedback.
Move along folks.......Nothing to see here.

243 negs? After a certain number of negs, you should be suspended from Ebay, IMO.

But, you have to pay this one. As said, many of these "big time" sellers don't care enough to respond to email, but they do send the items out in most cases. You knew the shipping costs up front, and while I agree he should have been considerate enough to email you a total, you are still responsible for payment. Vargha is right, send a Postal MO so you can track its receipt.

Those feedbacks are not even half the story; he actually has around 54000 postings, member since 7/01 - that's roughly 360 lots a week. This guy is busy - there is no excuse, though, for shoddy salesmanship. I hope it all works out for you. Bump this thread up and let us know how it turns out.

I've bought a (cheap) card from discountcardz in the past, but I don't plan to ever again. S/He's a huge seller, I think he should take Paypal (might help with the organization), which is why I won't buy from them again. From what I remember the communication about the transaction was non-existant, and it took him a long time to ship. Way to encourage repeat customers! Made sure I won't be coming back.

I've bought from discountcardz (Brian Carnathan) before (as many as 20 cards in an order), am sending out payment tomorrow on several more auctions from him, and will do so again. He's slow in shipping and doesn't often respond to emails, but he's a legitimate seller and one of your best sources if you're working on serial #ed modern cards or tough inserts.

BTW, since his shipping prices are stated in the auction listing (including the combined rate), you don't really need to wait for a final invoice from him.
